How Network Marketing Should Be Done by Bill Rowe

By billrowe

I want to share a story from an e-mail I received the other day. The thing I want to bring out in this story is how it relates to Network Marketing.

When I first read this story, the first thing I though of was, “now that’s how Network Marketing should be done”.

Here it is:

A holy man was having a conversation with God one day and said, ‘ God , I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.’

God led the holy man to two doors.

He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in.

In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man’s mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished.

They were holding spoons with very long handles, that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful.

But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

God said, ‘You have seen Hell.’

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one.

There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man’s mouth water.

The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here, the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, ‘I don’t understand.’

It is simple,’ said God . ‘It requires but one skill.

You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves.’

You see its all about giving and sharing. If you help others succeed in life or in business, you will be deeply rewarded.

I just wanted to share this with you and to let you know…..

Remember that I will always share my spoon with you.

Hey Bill! That’s is a great story! It speak volumes as to the mindset and mentallity that has brough the US economy to it’s knees. We were not created to be selfish beings, but giving beings… giving generates life!

    Great post!

Wow! What a story. It doesn’t get any better than that. Thanks for sharing this with us all. If this doesn’t show you that people that come into our group will feed each other ,and not be greedy then you are blind. Great words Bill I will share my Spoon, fork, and knife with everyone… I feel Super inspired now. Thanks.

I agree. Helping others provides the greatest joy. (For example, I started sponsoring a boy in the Dominican Republic, and it has probably done as much for me as it has for him!)

    Hi Bill,
This is a beautiful story with a very powerful message. Too many people are worried about what network marketing program is going to make them the most money. Instead, they would do better figuring out what they are truly passionate about and then sharing their passion to help others.

I have one question…. if you’re sharing the spoon, is it ok if I cook the stew?

    Blessings,
    Tula

Bill that is a wonderful old Hasidic tale of Heaven and Hell, but Rex is right, we were not meant to be selfish, we were/are meant to share and give. And it has so much application to running a successful business, online or traditional.

And I will always share my spoon with you.

    All the Best!

    Susan
